Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 | Last Updated: May 24, 2026

The Clink team ("Clink," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the clink! mobile application (the "App"), how we use and share it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide
  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, date of birth (for age verification), and any profile information you choose to add.

  • User Content: Task names, category labels, emoji icon choices, Post-it messages, and other content you create in the App.

  • Communications: If you contact us for support or feedback, we collect the content of those communications.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, tasks completed, jars sealed, and session duration.

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.

  • Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and error reports.

1.3 Information from Social Features
  • Friend Connections: If you use social features, we collect information about your approved Friend connections within the App.

    Social Content: Your daily Jar status, task completion data, and Post-it messages you send or receive may be stored and shared within the App as described in Section 3.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account;

  • Provide, operate, and improve the App and its features;

  • Enable social features, including sharing Jar data with approved Friends;

  • Personalize your in-app experience;

  • Send transactional communications (e.g., account verification, security alerts);

  • Respond to your support requests and feedback;

  • Monitor for and enforce compliance with our Terms of Service;

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your information to serve behavioral advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Information Shared Within the App

Certain features of Clink involve sharing your information with other users:

  • Your Jar (daily task completion status and icons) is visible to users you have approved as Friends.

  • Post-it messages you send are visible to the recipient; Post-its you receive are visible to you.

  • Your display name and profile picture (if set) are visible to your Friends.

You can manage your friend connections at any time through the App's settings. Removing a Friend will remove their ability to view your Jar.

4. Information Shared with Third Parties

4.1 Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the App, including cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, and customer support tools. These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only to provide services to Clink and not for their own independent purposes.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clink, our users, or the public.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or other business transaction, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email or in-App notification before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.4 No Sale of Personal Data

Clink does not sell, rent, or lease your personal data to third parties.

5. Age Rating and Children's Privacy

Clink may be rated 4+ in the App Store based on its content and features. This App Store age rating reflects the general suitability of the App's content and does not mean that children under 13 may create an account or use account-based features.

Clink account creation and account-based features are limited to users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. During account registration, users who indicate that they are under 13 are blocked from creating an account.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately at seeunpark241@gmail.com.

For users between 13 and 17, we apply heightened data protections and encourage parental or guardian involvement. We do not allow users under 18 to make their profile or Jar visible to users outside their approved Friend connections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account:

  • Your profile and Jar data will be removed from public view within 30 days;

  • Post-it messages you have sent may remain visible to recipients until they are deleted;

  • We may retain certain data for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and personal data, subject to retention obligations.

  • Data Portability: Request that we provide your data in a portable format.

  • Opt-Out of Communications: You may opt out of non-transactional emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at seeunpark241@gmail.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

7.1 California Residents — California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and share, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: Clink does not sell personal information). To submit a California privacy request, contact us at seeunpark241@gmail.com

7.2 Do Not Track Disclosure (California)

The App does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals transmitted by web browsers or mobile operating systems, because no uniform industry standard for DNT has been established. We will revisit this position if a recognized standard for DNT compliance is adopted. For information about our data collection practices and your opt-out choices, please see Sections 1 and 7 of this Policy.

7.3 California 'Shine the Light'

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine the Light" law) permits California residents to request, once per calendar year, certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. As noted in this Policy, Clink does not disclose personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. If you have questions, contact us at seeunpark241@gmail.com.

8. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data, and you use the App at your own risk.

8.1 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that is reasonably likely to result in a risk of harm to affected users, Clink will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by applicable law. Notification will be provided via email (to the address associated with your account) or, where legally permitted, through in-App notification. The notification will describe the nature of the breach, the type of data affected, and the steps we are taking to address the incident. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notification within the timeframes required by applicable state and federal law.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Clink. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

10. International Users and Cross-Border Data Transfers

Clink is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers and central database are located and our central team operates.

The data protection and privacy laws of the United States may differ from those of your country of residence. By using the App and providing us with your information, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and its processing there in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Clink implements appropriate contractual and technical safeguards for international data transfers where required by applicable law. If you have questions about cross-border data transfers, please contact us at seeunpark241@gmail.com.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
